who buys armor in the usa? Only europeans keep tolkienism and historical clubs alive, where they gather and battle.

Really dude? the euro battles i've seen were kinda...small...i've seen usa based events with 50k people! every major city in the US has SCA (not that historical in some ways) and actual historical reenactment groups. Western and eastern sword play is very much studied from coast to coast in continental north america, armor smiths, weapon smiths, study groups who focus on the ancient arts over ancient battle techniques.

Tolkienism? with almost 400 million people the works of Tolkien are well alive, but have nothing to do with reenactment and armor when they are books.

I love how you actually made it functional for women without giving it breast cups.

Works much better <3

Great forming, especially at the waste. Compound curves are pretty tricky, aluminum is a nice soft metal to work with. Did you pickle it in acid to achieve a steel like patina or did you use some other method?

O.O! I must know what this is made of! it's FANTASTIC! I've been having such a hard time trying to figure out how to round out armor so it fits the contours of the female body. Please PLEASE tell me! :worship:

It's made of aluminum(6061-0), Takes a bit of work but once you get the hang of it it's easy... just can be tedious at times but soooo worth it!!

It helps to think in 3-d and have an idea of the form. And a model or dress form.

I could put you in touch with a friend of mine in L.A. who's really good at it. (I'd love to teach you but I'm in Portland )

Have fun! and feel free to pick my brain!

I really like the way you've made the waist, without riveting or ridging. It gives a uncommon feeling of smoothness that i feel fits very well. =)
